Welcome to the English Section of My Website

I am Tsung-Cheng Yin, MD, an orthopedic spine surgeon and Chief of the Spine Section at Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan.

From 2019 to 2020, I served as a visiting scholar and clinical research fellow in spine surgery at Washington University in St. Louis, where I trained under Dr. Munish Gupta and gained advanced experience in spinal deformity correction and complex revision spine surgery.

I currently serve on the Education Committee of the Taiwan Society of Endoscopic Spine Surgery (TSESS). I am also a board-certified specialist in hyperbaric oxygen medicine.

In 2024, I was selected by the Taiwan Spine Society as an International Visiting Scholar to Japan. During this program, I had the privilege of visiting and exchanging ideas with spine surgeons at several leading institutions: Tokai University Hospital, Keio University Hospital, Hamamatsu University School of Medicine Hospital, The University of Tokyo Hospital, Kitasato University Hospital, National Defense Medical College Hospital. During my visits to Japan, I was deeply inspired by the Japanese surgeons’ spirit of craftsmanship, surgical excellence, meticulous attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to academic advancement.

I have also visited several leading endoscopic spine surgery centers in South Korea. These professional exchanges gave me valuable opportunities to learn from Korean surgeons and observe their highly refined and innovative surgical techniques.

My main clinical and academic interests are biportal endoscopic spine surgery and related areas. I have performed more than 600 biportal endoscopic procedures involving the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spine. My other areas of interest include minimally invasive spine surgery, such as OLIF and ALIF; spinal deformity surgery for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and kyphosis; complex revision surgery; and cervical disc replacement and fusion.

Through this website, I hope to share selected surgical cases, operative techniques, research projects, international academic activities, and educational videos with spine surgeons around the world. I also look forward to exchanging ideas, experiences, and surgical perspectives with colleagues from different countries.
